steve is waiting for her footsteps
as long as he's sure that she won't come
through the wall, his hands on the floor
he's listening with the eyes on the door
that's not how steve expected to live
crying all day, catching falling leaves outside
when the day turns to night
he locks the door and then gets high
now he sings songs of love looking at pictures on the wall
one more time the noise of the stairs
will keep steve up all night, he's not so strong
sometimes he says "life got unfair"
since the day she left like a silent song
steve is looking for the memories that they used to have
now he's down on his knees
daydreaming, speaking to himself when there's no one around
who's to blame now he's insane?
steve will never be the same again
jane, oh jane....
